The expansion of WAGO’s international logistics centerNearing completion

WAGO Group's largest investment project has taken shape, and the expansion of its international logistics center in Sondershausen, Germany has been basically completed. The 11,000 square meters of logistics space and 2,000 square meters of new office space are scheduled to be put into trial operation at the end of 2024.

Gateway to the world, modern high-bay central warehouse

WAGO Group established a production plant in Sondershausen in 1990, and then built a logistics center here in 1999, which has been WAGO's global transportation hub ever since. WAGO Group plans to invest in the construction of a modern automated high-bay warehouse at the end of 2022, providing logistics and freight support not only for Germany but also for subsidiaries in 80 other countries.

Digital transformation and sustainable construction

Like all WAGO's new construction projects, the new logistics center also attaches great importance to energy efficiency and resource conservation, and pays more attention to the digital and automated transformation of logistics facilities and operations, and includes sustainable construction, insulation materials and efficient energy supply in the planning at the beginning of the project.

For example, an efficient power supply system will be built: the new building meets the strict KFW 40 EE energy efficiency standard, which requires that at least 55% of the heating and cooling of buildings be powered by renewable energy.

New conveyor technology for pallets, containers and cartons.
Robots for palletizing, depalletizing and commissioning.
Sorting station on two floors.
Driverless transport system (FTS) for transporting pallets directly from the production area to the high-bay warehouse.
