HARTING is expanding its range of docking frame products to offer IP65/67-rated solutions for standard sizes of industrial connectors (6B to 24B). This allows machine modules and molds to be automatically connected without the use of tools. The insertion process even includes the hard-wiring of the cables with a "blind mate" option.
The latest addition to the HARTING Han® product portfolio, the IP67 is equipped with an integrated docking frame consisting of floating plates and guide elements to ensure a safe connection. The docking frame has successfully passed IP65 and IP67 tests.
The docking frame system is installed within two surface-mounted enclosures. By implementing floating plates, tolerances of 1mm can be handled in the X and Y directions. Since our ferrules have a wipe length of 1.5 mm, the Han® Docking Station IP67 can handle this distance in the Z direction.
In order to achieve a safe connection, the distance between the mounting plates needs to be between 53.8 mm and 55.3 mm, depending on the customer's application.
Maximum tolerance Z = +/- 0.75mm
Maximum tolerance X-Y = +/- 1mm
The interface consists of a floating side (09 30 0++ 1711) and a fixed side (09 30 0++ 1710). It can be combined with any Han integrated ferrule or Han-Modular® hinge frame of relevant dimensions.
In addition, the docking solution can be used on both sides with rear mounting bases (09 30 0++ 1719), thus providing an IP65/67 protection solution from all sides.
